Top Iranian Commander Killed in Plane Crash

Most people should have heard by now that there has been another military aircraft crash in Iran. The following high ranking members of the elite Islamic Revolution Guards Corps apparently have met their fate in this 'accident'.

(1) Major General Ahmad Kazemi, commander of IRGC Ground Forces;

(2) Brigadier General Saeed Mohtadi Jafari, commander of Rasulollah Division 27 of the IRGC;

(3) Brigadier General Saeed Soleimani, deputy commander for operational affairs of the IRGC Ground Forces;

(4) Brigadier General Nabiollah Shahmoradi, deputy commander for intelligence affairs of the IRGC Ground Forces;

(5) Brigadier General Abbas Karbandi-Mojarad, commander of the Qadr Air Base of the IRGC Air Force (the plane's pilot);

(6) Brigadier General Gholam-Reza Yazdani, commander of the IRGC Ground Forces Artillery Unit;

(7) Brigadier General Safdar Reshadi, deputy commander for planning of the IRGC Ground Forces;

(8) Brigadier General Ahmad Elhaminejad, commandant of the IRGC Air Force Academy (the plane’s copilot);

(9) Brigadier General Hamid Azinpur, the commander of the IRGC Ground Forces Command Office;

(10) Colonel Morteza Basiri, flight engineer;

(11) Mohsen Asadi, bodyguard of the IRGC Ground Forces commander.

There are quite a few conspiracy theories as to what happened. I have listed three below.

1) It was an accident caused by the landing gear and both engines failing simultaneously(what are the odds?). The MSM have gone out of their way to push that the accident is due to poor maintenance and the scarcity of spare parts because of trade embargos. This excuse would make a lot more sense if the plane was originally supplied by the US. The accident/poor maintenance hypothesis falls apart when you realise that the plane was a Dassault Falcon and as such the parts are supplied by France. For you coincidence theorists here is a December BBC article preparing you for your sheeplike acceptance of the coming serendipitous Iranian plane crashes.

2) The US military used one of their questionably legal preemptive strikes to take out the command and control section of Iranian elite forces. Considering that military cohesion is considered an important target by the US in the lead up to the inevitable hostilities this makes some sense. It would not surprise me at all if the US did do this because they essentially do whatever they want because they believe that might makes right. It's not like the US people are going to make a big fuss about it if this is the case and it becomes general knowledge(except for the ones standing in free speech zones out of sight and mind of the majority of the American sleepwalking community).

3) This is the conspiracy theory that I favour. The crash occurred and maybe some military were killed but the list of victims is incorrect. Considering the current hostile climate towards Iran I find it very hard to believe that the Iranian military would be so incompetent as to load all of these high ranking men into one aircraft and then fly it so close to the Iraqi border that it is within range of one of those common fortuitous accidents that seem to occur to opponents of US foreign policy on a regular basis.
